Small Group?
Small groups are a gathering of people who meet regularly to foster a relationship where members can share their struggles, celebrate victories, and pray for one another.
We structure our groups by gender and stage of life. Groups consist of 4-6 people.

No! However, if you are currently a member of another church, we encourage you to remain faithful and committed to your congregation. Scripture calls us to “shepherd the flock” under our care (1 Peter 5:2), and we view that flock as those who have formally committed to the leadership and community of First Baptist through membership.

A Small Group is a big commitment, and one of the most effective means by which we can become more like Christ. Being in a Small Group may mean saying no to other great things, but we believe the benefit will be well worth it!

Most of our Small Groups meet weekly in the group leader's home or a church member's home. However, there may be exceptions based on the availability of group members. If your Small Group does not meet weekly, group members are still expected to interact and engage on a weekly basis.

You do! We want everyone in the group to share the weight of spurring one another on towards love and good deeds (Hebrews Small Groups do have appointed leaders for logistics and oversight who have been carefully vetted and appointed by our leadership.

Everything! Pray together, make decisions together, encourage one another, resolve conflict, etc. Proverbs 11:14 tells us that “wisdom comes from the counsel of many.” If wisdom is going to mark our lives, we must be people committed to sharing all aspects of our lives with other Christ followers who can offer biblical counsel.

We separate our Small Groups by gender to foster accountability and tailored biblical discipleship through shared experiences. Meeting as men and women enables groups to speak honestly about real struggles together and encourage one another toward Christ-centered maturity.
